This extra virgin olive oil has been custom-blended by the producer especially for Olio.  The oil is from Abruzzo, Italy is a mix of the more mild Leccino, and more pungent Frantoio and Tortiglione olives.  Tortiglione olives can only be found in the region in and around Abruzzo.  The oil has a fresh green and grassy fragrance, with smooth tastes of almond and fruit.  The oil finishes in your throat with a pop of ripe olive bitterness.

This is that amazing oil that people think one can only get while in Italy!  We like to joke with the producer that they have finally given us a taste of their secret stash that they usually keep for themselves.

This oil makes a perfect finishing oil, but our favorite is to put it in a bowl with freshly grated parmesan, Olio Black Truffle Sea Salt and pepper, and dip some fresh crusty bread!

An awesome place to stop in while walking through Old Town Alexandria. It's primarily an olive oil store but the they sell other products like balsamic vinegars, seasonings, and sauces. You're allowed to taste pretty much any of the olive oils/vinegars that you'd like. They have a number of unique oils I have yet to see anywhere else.

This place is great because the olive oils are freaking awesome. After experiencing olive oil tasting in Napa Valley, I have a pretty high bar for olive oils and the ones here are as good if not better than the ones offered there.

In particular, you must taste the silver tree olive oil. It's easily one of the best I've ever had. If you do, good luck resisting buying it!
